The Norwegian bass-baritone Jørgen Magnus Haslum (born 1993) completed his graduation in the spring of 2021 from the Oslo Academy of the Arts. He began his studies at the Grieg Academy (UiB) in Bergen and continued at the Oslo Academy of the Arts before moving to New York, where he studied for two years at The Conservatory of Music, Brooklyn College.
Since graduating from the Opera Academy, Haslum has worked on numerous productions as a freelancer. He has performed with the Norwegian Opera and Ballet , RingsakerOperaen, Opera Bergen, Oslo Operafestival, Opera Lillehammer, Lyric Opera Studio Weimar , Svalbard Opera , Nordland Teater and Hålogaland Teater and Bergen International festival.
He has a long-standing relationship with Opera Bergen, where he has performed frequently.
During his studies, he performed with the Brooklyn College Opera Theatre , Lidal North Opera Workshop , and Oslo National Academy of the Arts.
In 2018, he was awarded 2nd prize in the NINA Solo Competition. He has a particular passion for Lieder and has built a considerable repertoire, which includes songs by composers such as Beethoven, Brahms, Grieg, Quilter, Poulenc, Schubert, Schumann, and Vaughan Williams.
